As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beautiful Black Goddesses!
It’s been a little while since I’ve written Dear Sisters, but I wanted to share with you a tip that will help you become better qualified for a righteous and refined life. Sisters, our ancestors were brought here to be the property of the devil slavemasters. We were treated as cattle and NOT as human beings. Therefore, there was no idea on the part of the slavemaster to educate us. We could not speak their language, but we were forbidden from speaking our own native language (Arabic). Consequently, we picked up the slavemaster’s language (English) as best we could and passed on our hybrid dialect (mixture of English and Arabic) to our oncoming generations.
It has been over one hundred years since the devil slavemaster freed us and allowed us an education, however, the effects of slavery are still evident in our manner of speaking. It has even been given a name: EBONICS. Breaking the habits of improper grammar and pronunciation is a monumental task, Dear Sisters. But, if we want to be respected and viewed as intelligent and refined women, we must develop proper speaking habits.
Now, I have searched and searched the web for instructional sites in Proper English for Native Speakers. I was only able to find one. So, I am sharing the site with you, so that we can all learn how to communicate in a manner that is befitting the Queen of the Planet.
You can immediately assess the instructor’s competency in speaking American English, upon first hearing her speak. She is planning an Internet course that is not yet available, at least not as far as I can see. But, I am thinking that you have to finish the free course first, which I haven’t done yet.
But, so far I am impressed with what I have seen. She also has a YouTube channel which is helpful. The blog is okay, imo, but you can check it out and see if you like it.
I would recommend visiting the website and registering for the free pronunciation audio course
Here are the links to the Website, the YouTube channel and the Blog.
