I just heard about LaTarsha Sanders.

A Black woman sentenced to two life sentences plus one week for murdering her children.

If anyone can explain two life sentences PLEASE leave a comment.

I have for DECADES been trying to understand. Thank you.

In the same article, I was informed of her predominant mental illness, congruency to a parallel case involving a white woman- Lindsay Clemency. Also the influence of Voodoo on both women.

Quite a situation.

My concern is for our children and preventing a repetition of this heinous crime.

I lived in New Orleans where Voodoo has been made illegal by the police department yet it is so deeply enmeshed in the culture that police have been known to practice it!

I am treading very carefully because Yoruba is a religion and I do not want to be misconstrued nor underestimate.

Per haps, a reader or associate can provide clarity concerning the loss of these lives.

The ritual above was intended to clear the child of an evil spirit.

The articles concerning LaTarsha do not indicate the nature of the ritual.

I researched the intent for a ritual involving a candle in the mouth and discovered a “SHUT UP SPELL” !!!

I am baffled as to why Voodou is still practiced.

From what I understand, it evolved from The Afrikan Yoruban religion to combat mistreatment by the oppressive slavemasters and their children.

Admittedly we are still suffering under them to this day but the negatives surrounding such extreme measures gravely outweigh the positive.

Even as a last resort, there are POSITIVE ways to combat aggression.

I pray Allah. All of our people accept our own and we can progress into a more affirmative spiritual reality.

When the oppressor begins practicing our indigenous culture, it definitely deserves a reevaluation.

There are more white capoeiristas, practitioners of the Voodou Martial Art, than there are Black nowadays!

As long as there are devils, there will need to be a defense against them.

I chose Capoeira as a Self-Defense tool because of OURSTORY.

The Black Woman

1 The woman is the man’s field to produce his nation. If he does not keep the enemy out of his field, he won’t
produce a good nation. If we love our vegetable crops we will go out and turn up the leaves on that vegetable
stalk and look carefully for worms that are eating and destroying the vegetables. We will kill that worm – right?
2 Again, we will go out into the cotton field and look for the enemies of our cotton and try to kill that enemy. We
study poisons and chemicals of the earth and we pour these chemicals on the enemies of our crops to keep their
enemies from destroying them. We love a crop that we can produce every year, every season, so well that we will
kill every enemy that we find seeking to destroy it.

4 Is not your woman more valuable than that crop of corn, that crop of cotton, that crop of cabbage, potatoes,
beans, tomatoes? How much more valuable is your woman than these crops that you should keep the enemies

government people. In some of their homes, we never did see any of their family, only men.
10 The waiter was a man or a boy, not any woman. My beloved brothers in America, you have lost the respect
