بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beautiful and Beloved Asiatic Black Brothers and Sisters!
I haven’t written on the topic of food in a while and it is so critical to our physical, mental and spiritual well-being, I thought I should write a few lines on the subject. Our Beloved Messenger, The Most Honourable and Humble Elijah Muhammad (May the Peace and the Blessings of Allah Forever Be Upon Him) Taught us in HOW TO EAT TO LIVE:
“Do not make a habit of filling your stomach with aged cheese. Eat cream cheese as much as possible, it is better for your digestive system.”
And I bear witness. As vegetarians and as The Chosen People of Allah (God) we cannot eat just any type of food.
The Bible compares us to sheep and goats. As you know, a goat will eat anything from newspaper to an old shoe, but sheep are very particular about what they eat. As are we.
Our Beloved Messenger (May the Peace and the Blessings of Allah Forever Be Upon Him) Delivered the Spiritual Message of Allah (God) to us, therefore he also had to deliver the Physical Message of Allah (God) to us that prophet Isa (Jesus) told us would protect that life and give us “More Life Abundantly.”
We do not eat meat. But a diet of small white navy bean soup, whole milk and whole-wheat bread once a day will keep us living one hundred and forty years – if we fast once a month for three days.
I’ve been homeless for awhile and I can’t cook bean soup, so I get my protein, fats and carbohydrates from cheese and sometimes boiled eggs. I love the boiled eggs, especially with New Orleans’ Zatarain’s Creole Seasonings. It’s so funny because I read Pops’ autobiography and he called them “Zatterman’s.” LOL

This seasoning is so good! They sell it in L.A., I just never tried it until I moved out here and lived with some New Orleanians and they had it. So, I tried it and it has that unmistakable New Orleans’ flavor. Do Not Get Tony’s – a cheap and inferior imitation! It doesn’t have the New Orleans’ flavor. It tastes like regular seasoning salt.
Sometimes I just sprinkle Zatarain’s on a slice of plain whole wheat bread or a wheat bagel with a little butter (or not 🙂 ) and eat it just like that but it’s really good with cream cheese too.
There is this big trend now toward using EVOO in all our cooking, and so I used that instead of the butter at first, then I remembered that our Beloved Messenger (May the Peace and the Blessings of Allah forever be upon him) taught us in HOW TO EAT TO LIVE that if we must have some fat, then we should take the fat from milk (butter).
My son was so adamant about HOW TO EAT TO LIVE that he would not allow me to buy oil even to fry eggs. I HAD to use butter. He also would remind me, when we went grocery shopping to ALWAYS read labels.
You know we vegetarians have very simple tastes. Our Beloved Messenger (May the Peace and the Blessings of Allah Forever Be upon him) taught us in How To Eat To Live that “simple foods are best” and not to try and keep up with the devil and all his fancy foods. Every week he has some new food or new way of preparing new food. He warned us that you will be keeping up with him to the grave.
Don’t go walking up and down every aisle when you go shopping. Make a list! You will stumble up on some new food and wind up with the filthy poison hog on your plate. Ewww!!!!!
I haven’t figured out what it is in Creole Seasoning that gives it that distinct, incomparable New Orleans’ flavor, but I think it’s curry.
The eggs are best when I can find them still in the shells. But sometimes, you can get burned by unscrupulous shop owners. I was lucky yesterday to find some shelled but they were still fresh and without a foreign taste! And at CVS! I’m trying to put Walgreen’s out of business so you can imagine my ecstasy. I was positively rapturous! I even found a small can of small, white navy beans the other day at a local grocery store. The first can I found was too big for one serving (homeless, remember? No fridge) But these were regular sized cans. So, the point is that my diet is improving, Al Hamdulillah! I’ve been doing very well on the cheese, however, which is more accessible.
I began eating cream cheese on my wheat toast with my bean soup on the recommendation of an F.O.I. in 2009 and was amazed at how good it is!
And my digestive system LOVED it too. I just felt better overall.
When your digestive system is on point, your whole body is on point.
Our Beloved Messenger (May the Peace and the Blessings of Allah forever be upon him) taught us that the brain is connected to the digestive system. So, If your digestive system is functioning at full capacity, your brain, which regulates the entire body is better able to keep you in a state of homeostasis, which just means you’re cool.
But anyway, I prefer bagels to regular bread, since I can’t make my own right now. Thomas’ makes these deliciously soft 100 per cent whole wheat bagels that are fabulous and I use Philly Cream Cheese on those.
Another F.O.I. got me into buying brand name stuff instead of the store brands. They are usually better. And M.G.T. deserve the best that Allah Has to offer. And I tell you once I had just bought two packages of Philly. One was opened and the other was not, when NOPD gaffled me up and put me in with the hoes and larcenists for over two months. Do you know when I got back to the Honeycomb Hideout, the unopened package was still good???
That’s a good sign. Food that doesn’t spoil is better than foods that spoil quickly. I think it has fewer germs. Like meats spoil overnight but fruits and vegetables take a long time to spoil. Except berries. They rot in the store.
I have a soft spot in my heart for Philly anyway, just on the strength of T.S.O.P.
And please, never, ever buy orange cheese. Those cheeses have artificial color added for some reason. And American Cheese is not even cheese. It doesn’t fulfill the qualifications. The devil probably did some type of survey and found that most people prefer orange cheese to white. But think about it, my Beloved Black Brothers and Sisters. Cheese comes from milk. Milk is white. So cheese is naturally WHITE. Only Eat White Cheese and stay away from the devils’ poison foods.
Yes, butter is yellow, but that’s because it is all of the fat in milk separated from the liquid part and concentrated.
CHEESE is made from milk, so it is naturally white like everything else made from milk, i.e. yoghurt, cream cheese, cottage cheese, cream, ice cream, buttermilk and curds and whey.
Anyway, go out and get you some good PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, and enjoy good health, a beautiful appearance and a long life.
