Summer is upon us and it is the perfect season for some of my favorite drinks. Staples in my M.G.T. kit are: Fresh Mint Leaves, a Lemon, Jasmine Green Tea, Honey and Zanzibeer (Ginger).

You can combine them all or just a few of them. The JazzMint, as you can probably guess, calls for Jasmine Green Tea (Coffee Bean has a good blend; I have also tried to use the petals of real Jasmine, but I couldn’t get it strong enough) and Fresh Mint Leaves. I like the spice that the Zanzibeer adds also. I can’t brew it, so I’ve been using the powdered and it’s aight.

FYI some Jasmine flowers are also Orange Blossoms. Come back in a few months and you might find oranges on that Jasmine Tree. 🙂

The Lovenade is Lemon, Zanzibeer, Honey and Water.

They work hot or cold. I had to stop drinking coffee in the mornings, black tea and even Hot Chocolate Milk & Honey because of the caffeine. But these (JazzMint and Lovenade) are excellent replacements if you like a warm drink in the morning.

Plain hot water is good and Lemon Water is perfect as a morning beverage. You can feel it going down your esophagus and cleansing your entire digestive system.

Although, it is BEST to just have your one meal a day at four or six p.m. and nothing like food until the next day at the same time.

Bar-b-cue some eggplant, mushroom, onion and bell pepper skewers to accompany your daily and delicious Supreme Bean Soup and put a pitcher of JazzMint in the freezer two or three hours prior to breaking fast. They will be sweet, slushy and refreshing on the patio with your Supper.

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum

Yazmeen

As-Salaam Alaikum!

It is Spring again and the Yazmeen (Jasmine) is in full bloom.

Yazmeen is my favorite kind of tea and I have spent hundreds of dollars on pre-packaged Yazmeen tea bags.

The best can be found at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. I like to make a chai with honey, milk, cardamom, nutmeg and almond extract. So good! The Coffee Bean And Tea Leaf in my neighborhood is closed due to Corona but on my walks around town I have discovered some Yazmeen plants that I have put in my water bottles and have been blessed to partake of Yazmeen Water.

It is deliciousness!

There are different types of Yazmeen. I have tried the white blossoms with a little pink that grow on a vine type of plant as well as the yellow blossoms that grow on a bush or tree.

Just keep your nose open and when you get a whiff of Yazmeen follow it until you locate the plant.

The yellow are more fragrant and yield a better taste than the white but if you only have access to the white you can still enjoy that awesome Yazmeen flavor.

If you have the wherewithal, try it in ice cream and smoothies!

As Salaam Alaikum!

Words of Advice to My People

Words of Advice to My People

I advise you, my people, that, first of all, you will never be able to live as you desire – in freedom, justice and equality – until you are in your own (Islam).

Whatever profession or trade you may have, do something for yourself and your kind and choose for yourself the one religion (Islam). Islam alone will secure for you favor and protection of Allah, also universal Brotherhood.

Stop looking for anything after death – Heaven or Hell. These are in THIS life. Death settles it all.

Stop eating yourself to death by eating three meals a day. Eat once a day and eat the best food, which when eaten correctly, keeps you in the best of health. Stay away from the HOG meat. Don’t eat stale beef, chicken or fish. Eat fresh products.

Don’t eat field peas such as brown or black-eyed peas and lima beans. Don’t eat collard greens, cabbage sprouts, cornbread. Eat brown bread (whole wheat) and butter, if not over-weight, and a little cheese. Drink milk. Cook your food well done.

Pray five times a day with your face toward the east.

Love your black brother as thyself. Do good to all.

Baby Wipes vs. Warm, Soft Baby Towels

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

As Salaam Alaikum Dearly Beloved Sisters!

I am sorry but I am kinda glad some of you are safer at home simply because it’s better for you and your family.

Its also easier to write. I feel like I can relate to you better and you to me.

This society because of what’s going on, has been forced to stop and reflect.

You and I both know that a cold, wet piece of paper is not comparable to a clean soapy warm small towel meant especially for your little Angels.

Those were made for women who spend time out of the home.

Stay home and keep your children home and off of the street where they are safe and secure.

And never take them out at night. If you want to show them the moon and stars look out the widow if you don’t have a backyard, patio, courtyard or deck.

The Lost Sheep

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

As Salaam Alaikum Beloved Sisters And Brothers

I am listening to Saviour’s Day 1973, my favourite lecture by Our Beloved Messenger, The HONOURABLE Elijah Muhammad (May the peace and the blessings of Allah forever be upon him) because in this lecture he makes the Truth so plain when he clearly says “THEIR REAL NAME IS THE DEVIL.”

He also goes into the depth of Our Saviour, Master FARD Muhammad, To Whom Praises Are Due Forever. And the great lengths He Had to go through to find us – the so-called Negroes in America.

We are The Lost Sheep spoken of so much throughout The Bible. I believe it calls us The Lost Sheep of the House of Israel – The “Children” of Israel. America is Israel.

First, they kidnapped us from our land and people and did not tell our people where we were. We were lost and they did not know where we were until a few years ago.

Secondly, they changed our names so that from the outside it would be impossible to tell Sam Jones American Negro from Sam Jones American whiteman.

Our Saviour, Master FARD Muhammad, To Whom Praises Are Due Forever, actually had to travel the world seeking a people who were lost among strangers and didn’t even know it.

Think it over!

Virtual Field Trips

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

As Salaam Alaikum Beloved Quarantines

Well since everyone’s forced to homeschool nowadays whether you are just supplementing or offering full time instruction I pray Allah that you are fully enjoying this time with your little Angels.

There is a Brother on Facebook who has started a group for Black Homeschoolers

Melanated Gods Homeschooling

I prefer the term BLACK simply because it distinguishes us from other less melanated people but I have found no other problems (except that his apostrophe is in the wrong place).

In any case, I picked up this tip for those who would like to take your children on virtual field trips in Atlanta and maybe inspire you to actually visit when this crisis is over.
