During my menstruation years I really didnʻt have one because I was on antipsychotic meds and it caused AMENORRHEA (no cycle).
I talked about it with my psychiatrist and he said it was a normal side effect of the meds.
I didnʻt trip. I thought myself LUCKY to not have to go through with that annoying inconvenience every month.
I was not married (not trying to have children). So no need. Right?
Why did I get pregnant ANYWAY???? OMG!!!!! NO CYCLE!!!! still got pregnant.
Only me……
So, maybe you understand why I took a pregnancy test after I got you-know-what last year even though I was fifty-two and “post-menopausal”

I have not seen her since I was in New Orleans prior to my departure on January 3, 2019!
Donʻt remember exactly, when she said farewell. Probably because I had insight into her temperamentalism. After that ordeal in the late nineties, when I got pregnant even though I had not seen or heard from her since I started the meds regularly in 1996 or so.
Then I stopped after I realized I would be on them for the rest of my life.
SOMETHING I REFUSE TO DO.
They are really just to make other people able to deal with you.
People on psych meds are really really in tune to the spiritual, unseen, metaphysical, esoteric, or whatever you call it world.
And should just become hermits and live out in the wilderness, like John the Baptist, Jesus on the mount, Ar Rasul Allah Muhammad (peace be upon them) used to all ISOLATE.
The medical term that they use to make you feel like something is wrong with you.

You could be the best musician on Earth but if you are not white, you will not be in their brass band.
You could be their teacher.

And you will never know JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER was started by a BLACK Man. 😡

ALSO, L.A. NEEDS A JAZZ ORCHESTRA TO REPRESENT THE CITY.
DTLA has THE MUSIC CENTER wherein there is the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, CalArts Theatre, and Walt Disney Concert Hall that combined, host The Los Angeles Philharmonic; Los Angeles Opera; Los Angeles Master Chorale; Center Theatre Group but there is NO LOS ANGELES JAZZ ORCHESTRA OR JAZZ AT THE LOS ANGELES MUSIC CENTER WITH WYNTON MARSELIS, 🙂
There is Horace Tapscottʻs ARKESTRA in Leimert, maybe he could hook up with them since they are already established and he could branch off and expand to include the entire city. idk
But I know L.A. could use an OFFICIAL JAZZ ORCHESTRA.
If he has a say in his replacement, please no devil. I am voting for IRVIN MAYFIELD.
I enjoyed many, many, many wonderful JAZZ BANDS at his spot in THE FRENCH QUARTER.
He was never there though.
One night, the band was taking requests and for some reason I wanted to hear “Red Clay” by trumpeter FREDDIE HUBBARD.
I did not notice that there was no trumpeter that night. Nor had I ever noticed how certain songs may cater to certain instruments or certain musicians or something…
The bandleader was a trombonist.
A VERY GOOD TROMBONIST.
Also a singer. He sang and played “In a Mellow Tone” a tune that I was not that familiar with by Ellington. But have since come to really appreciate as an early Ellington standard but without the vocals.
Anyway, I wish. I could remember his name. Iʻm pretty sure I have a video somewhere on this blog. Maybe I will go find it later or you could search my time in New Orleans if you wish.
He was like, “Letʻs do it.”
A very confident and capable trombonist taking on a song written by and for trumpet…
Only then did I realize and sense the absence of IRVIN….

I had a friend tell me, Jeru, I think, or somebody that looks just like him, said he was going to just eat pears, and how funny she and her family thought that was.
I didnʻt see the humour.

Seriously, I had a toothache that just would not quit!
I wanted to go the hospital. But it was Saturday and I was not trying to sit up in the ER.
So, I began to lament the absence of shea butter here on the island. As far as I know.
I imagined rubbing some on my cheek anyway and began to really consider my resources.
I KNOW I always have something to cure illness.
And sure nuff, I had some old tea tree leaves in my apothecary.
I got one out and began to chew on it.
I used to chew one daily just to prevent illness.
My son told me I smelled like tea tree oil one day, so I stopped every day, but if I pass a tree I will get some leaves and chew one just as a preventative. The others I store.
So I chewed that old leaf up and it was my first time with an old leaf.
I usually rather, always chew a fresh off the branch.
So, this one wasnʻt as flavorful, and I ended up chewing it to a pulp.
But before I knew it my toothache was completely gone! الحمد لله
And I mean, the whole right side of my mouth was LIT.
FROM MY BOTTOM LACK-OF-A-WISDOM-TOOTH TO THE ROOF OF MY MOUTH.
I HAD MORE PAIN IN MY PALETTE THAN IN THE TOOTH!!!
I GOT A FRESH LEAF AND JUST PUT IT IN MY MOUTH AND WENT TO SLEEP.
