Anybody seen the new moon yet? I am pretty sure it was visible last night because that frog was singing again. Lordt. 🐸

But itʻs been raining lately. So clouds… but I LOVE IT!!! I saw a rainbow this morning and it was like the ones in Hello Kitty with the regular clouds (not rain clouds) kinda at the bottom and it was amazing!!! The white clouds and azure skies made the colours so VIBRANT!!!
My phone was dead so I couldnʻt take a photo. Sorry. In Sha Allah, it wonʻt be the last time. 🙂

Also, the last few times I went to make groceries, for some reason, I really was craving some grapes. But I didnʻt actually cop some until this morning. (I know, too much like right, Right?)

So, when I went to check them out I noticed that they were SEEDED!!! I was like OMG! I wanted to break!!! ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

I debated the green; and BLACK grapes are delicious. But they were seedless! 😦
SO MY FAVORITE COLOUR IT WAS!!! AND OH MY GOD!!! SWEEEEEEETTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was planting grape seeds my entire walk to school.
(It took me two hours! LOL!!! In Hawaii, the motto is “WHO CARE?”
At least, Iʻm not on “HAWAIIAN TIME!!!!” LOL!!!! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

I am so into jewelry lately. Went to Target just to get a pearl necklace to replace the one when I first got here about two years ago.
You see what happened. (ABOVE) 🙂

I went to this local jewelry store that I have been avoiding, justifiably.

My daughter told me she was always “the friend.”

THIS WEEKʻS CLASS DISCUSSION…

The Story*: To sum it up, Holofernes, an Assyrian general, was tasked by the king to destroy Judith’s hometown, the city of Bethulia. Judith, a beautiful widow, charms and befriends Holofernes and is allowed into Holofernes’ tent because of his desire for her. After he gets drunk and passes out, she chops of his head and carries it away in a basket back to Bethulia to prove to her neighbors that the problem is taken care of. Bam! 
*The Book of Judith is a deuterocanonical book, included in the Septuagint and the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Christian Old Testament of the Bible, but excluded from Jewish texts and assigned by Protestants to the Apocrypha.

Look at the 2 versions of this story by the Renaissance painters Caravaggio and Artemisia Gentileschi. These two representations of the story are remarkably similar, but have many interesting differences. 

Step 1: Find 3 similarities between these 2 paintings and describe, using both CONTENT and FORM. Really examine both paintings and look at the expressions on the subject’s faces, examine their body positions, etc. Look at color, lighting, composition, etc. Describe in detail what you are seeing and  vocabulary you are learning in this class. SUBJECT AND CHARACTERS CANNOT BE USED IN YOUR DESCRIPTION.
Step 2: Find 3 differences between these 2 paintings and describe, using the same criteria in step 1. 

Step 2:Now compare the paintings and indicate which painting you prefer and why you prefer it. 

Write a complete paragraph using at least 6-7 sentences.

Another thing to consider is that Caravaggio was a man, and is regarded as a master Renaissance painter, and Artemisia Gentileschi is one of the few female Renaissance painters who is known in history, and her renown was hard fought. You can find additional information on these 2 significant painters in your reading.

First, “Bam!” ???!!! I sincerely hope that is not your lame attempt at being cool. And, rather a misunderstanding and misrepresentation of a culture foreign to you.
In doing so you are greatly belittling the events depicted in these paintings illustrating a real life event.
Like OMG
Do you know what it must have taken for her to pull off such a horrific task?
The male artistsʻ painting clearly mirrors your insensitivity to Judithʻs commitment, courage, dedication, pure love and devotion to her people which enabled her to successfully accomplish her mission.
I will not diminute her heroism by attempting to analyze the execution of such poor motives for a painting.
