4:34 Men are the maintainers of women, with what Allah has given – some of them above others – and with what they spend out of their wealth. So the good women are obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded. And those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the beds and turn them away. So if they obey you, do not seek a way against them. Surely Allah is ever Exalted, Great.

وَ اِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ شِقَاقَ بَیۡنِہِمَا فَابۡعَثُوۡا حَکَمًا مِّنۡ اَہۡلِہٖ وَ حَکَمًا مِّنۡ اَہۡلِہَا ۚ اِنۡ یُّرِیۡدَاۤ اِصۡلَاحًا یُّوَفِّقِ اللّٰہُ بَیۡنَہُمَا ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ کَانَ عَلِیۡمًا خَبِیۡرًا ﴿۳۵﴾

4:35 And if you fear a breach between the two, appoint an arbiter from his people and an arbiter from her people. If they both desire agreement, Allah will effect harmony between them. Surely Allah is ever Knowing, Aware.

This is such a crucial topic – MARRIAGE!!! I think it necessary to expound so that there is no misunderstanding.

And those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them…

According to MERRIAM-WEBSTER:

ADMONISH – (verb) – admonished; admonishing; admonishes
a. to indicate duties or obligations to
b. to express warning or disapproval to; especially in a gentle yet earnest or solicitous manner
ex. The students were admonished for being late.
ex. Before riding their bikes, their parents admonished them to be careful.
ex. Public computer users are admonished to change passwords regularly.

And those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them…

I never even considered the first part. I just migrated the instruction to include any type of insubordination.

If the definition for “desertion” is taken more abstractly, it could mean mental desertion. Not actual desertion.

Per haps the wife is showing signs of distraction. She has something on her mind and is neglecting her homemaking duties.

First, admonish her by
a. to indicate duties or obligations to
“Honey, I noticed you have fallen behind in your housekeeping… There are still dishes in the dishwasher, and the baby’s pants still need a hem. What’s going on? (with a hug and a kiss) ❤ ❤ ❤ 🙂 “

Talk about it. In my experience, most times, the person doesn’t even realize that something is amiss! Gently, delineate that you have noticed a change… ❤ ❤ 🙂

b. to express warning or disapproval to; especially in a gentle yet earnest or solicitous manner.

Solicitous just means gentle yet earnest. 🙂

So again, he is supposed to appeal to his wife in a gentle, solicitous manner, ideally discovering the ROOT of the problem. What is on her mind that has her behaving thusly? Discuss it. Amend it. Move on.

If she persists, “leave them alone in their beds turning away.” In other words, show her no affection until she desists.

Finally, a form of counseling and judgement which will keep the matter as discreet as possible. Two ARBITERS. One from her side. One from his.

It’s getting me into it also.
Here’s some of my fave tunes.
I’m not really into poetry like she is. But she mentions the millions of sonnets singing the praises of the country scenes turning into red and orange and the transition from the vibrancy of Summer to the melancholic and long AUTUMNAL evenings so fit for walks and talks reflecting on the past season and optimistic plans and expectations for the new year………. *sigh*

And commencing my SK8PARK JOURNEY.
Continuing THE PREVENTATIVE NURSE with an expose’ on RESPIRATORY THERAPARY. I call it “AIRAPY.”

To put it simply, CONSCIOUS BREATHING to promote relaxation. And thus, eliminate stress! 🙂

THE TALKING DRUM:

We had a very scary TSUNAMI WARNING here in HA WAI’I last month. I posted live coverage on my FACEBOOK PROFILE. In Sha Allah, I’ll be able to post it or a link.

But I went to the local quickie mart and the front glass door had been replaced by a wooden plank. I asked about it and was informed that when they were forced to close early due to the tsunami, a man went ballistic and broke the glass in his effort to enter the store despite the warning and order to close! The police were notified and nobody was hurt. But it will be another two weeks before the door will be repaired!

I had to learn the hard way, you do not mess with 68,634,00 square miles of water. And those dimensions do not include DEPTH!!!

I hightailed up the volcano(😲) after stocking up on rations and prepared to monitor the approach of the expected massive TIDAL WAVE from a very safe and long distance.

After I heard news reports that the waves were a mere ten feet, I was released from all agitation of worry and proceeded to head back to the spot!

On my word, ANY GOOD SURFER WOULD GRAB HIS TEN-FOOT WAVE BOARD AND RIP!!! IMR! TEN FEET!!! PFSHHHHH!

SPOTLESS:

I’m reading a FENG SHUI book right now. I find so many useful jewels in ANCIENT CHINESE PHILOSOPHY. Our Beloved Messenger, May the Peace and the Blessings of Allah forever be upon him, taught us that there is truth in all religions, however, we need a religion that is one hundred per cent TRUTH. And that can only be found in the religion of ISLAM AS HE TAUGHT US FROM THE MOUTH OF ALLAH.

One thing I realized is that my son and I had to keep buying these beautiful tropical fish because they kept dying.

I didn’t even think to consider moving them to another part of the house!!!

We had them in our small kitchen….

In retrospect, it soundz obvious, but our house was very small and our kitchen counter was always bare excepting a small ivy plant so placing the fish next to the ivy seemed like a logical place at the time.

The feng shui advised to never place an aquarium in the kitchen nor the bedroom.

My son and I were talking and he mentioned that VERB from Schoolhouse Rock was THE ONLY BLACK SUPERHERO. Like with a cape and everything. What’s up with that??? In any case.

Your fit may be cute or your hair. But your hair is totally respective of your parents. You had nothing to do with it really. And your fit may be tight but still. I gotta see yo shoes! FR

In any case, that really made my day. 🙂
