This was before they inevitably blew up and went to back JIMMY KIMMEL.
Anyway, we got so amicable that me and the cru planned to cook a home-cooked meal for them while they were in L.A. but that never materialized… same with Trevor and Spliff…. :/ *shrugs*
The last time I saw them at the HOB, I was talking to Ahmir, and my friend, who had moved to Philly and was in a group that The Roots was producing, kind of “interrupted” our conversation, and everything got all awkward…

31:12 And certainly We gave Luqmān wisdom,1 saying: Give thanks to Allah. And whoever is thankful, is thankful for the good of his own soul; and whoever denies, then surely Allah is Self-Sufficient, Praised.
31:13 And when Luqmān said to his son, while he instructed him: My son, set up no partner with Allah. Surely setting up partners (with Him) is a grievous wrong.
31:14 And We have enjoined on man concerning his parents — his mother bears him with faintings upon faintings and his weaning takes two years — saying: Give thanks to Me and to your parents. To Me is the eventual coming.2
31:15 And if they strive to make you set up partners with Me, of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them,3 and keep kindly company with them in this world, and follow the way of him who turns to Me; then to Me is your return, then I shall inform you of what you did.
31:16 My son, even if it is the weight of a grain of mustard-seed, even though it were in a rock, or in the heaven or in the earth, Allah will bring it forth. Surely Allah is Knower of subtleties, Aware.
31:18 And do not turn your face away from people in contempt, nor go about in the land exultingly. Surely Allah does not love any self-conceited boaster.
31:19 And pursue the right course in your going about and lower your voice. Surely the most hateful of voices is braying of donkeys.4
Commentary:
From what is stated of him, Luqmān seems to have been an Ethiopian. It is very probable that the Greek “Æsop” is a corruption of “Ethiopian” and is identical with Luqmān. The Quran accepts many prophets besides those mentioned in the Bible. ↩
Verses 14 and 15 are parenthetical, enjoining the duty of obedience to parents, because it is a parent who is advising his son. ↩
Despite the great stress that the Quran lays on the duty of obedience to parents, it also warns against attaching undue importance to that duty when the same clashes with a still higher duty, namely, duty to one’s Maker. In fact any duty, however great, must be sacrificed before a higher duty, and one’s duty to one’s Maker is the highest of all duties. ↩
Humility and meekness were taught by every prophet. An Ethiopian too preached the meekness and humility which was preached by Jesus. ↩

I am fifty-two and five tenths and all my life have read traditional books.
I first read MESSAGE TO THE BLACKMAN on the computer though.
Online books are easier to access. No going to the store. Relieve you of storage requirements for used books. Portable. Can store literally thousands of books on a small 3×5 phone. And the benefit to the environment is immeasurable when you factor in the elimination of deforestation, ink and waste.
So, all that said. You would think e-books are better, right?
I still disagree. I have had too many computer shutdowns to completely endorse elimination of print books.
Also, bots manipulate cybertext to suit themselves.
Its easier for me to find certain information in a book than online. Computers are temperamental. If they don’t want to show you something you have to fight fight fight!
Books are always open, willing ready and able!
You can lose control of your material when you upload it.

But I really wanted to get my ears implanted with some diamond studs. But these PEARLS are like MAGIC. So, I thought I will get a diamond necklace and a 18″ string of PEARLS. I feel like I need to wear some GOLD at all times. I was telling my daughter that I told my son, I had bought a quartz crystal that was rapped in a silver casing. Just by wearing it, the silver turned to gold. My son, my daily dose of reality, said, ‘ALCHEMY’ No doubt.
Real Simple like this. Admittedly, I changed the necklace part and put it on a silver chain. I believe something in the crystal helped to change the metal also.
But I am an M.G.T. now and we don’t wear whimsical stuff like unhewed quartz crystals. We have to level up to thousand year old quartz crystals – DIAMONDS.

The leader of Yemen’s Houthis warned on Wednesday they would strike U.S. warships if the Iranian-backed militia was targeted by Washington, which this week set up a multinational force to counter Houthi attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
The Houthis, which control vast amounts of territory in Yemen after years of war, have since last month fired drones and missiles at international vessels sailing through the Red Sea, attacks it says respond to Israel’s assault on the Gaza Strip.
The U.S.-led security initiative will see Washington and ten other, mostly NATO countries patrol the Red Sea to deter and respond to future Houthi attacks that have so far led to major global shipping lines rerouting around Africa instead.

She picked up her older brother’s trumpet while attending Dennison’s High School for Black people and became a member of the Marching Band; proving to be so proficient that she won music scholarships to both Bennett and Oberlin Colleges. Opting instead to remain in Texas and attend Houston’s HBCU Prairie View Agricultural and Mechanical University because of its All-Girl Swing Band, the PRAIRIE VIEW CO-EDS.
The Summer of 1945 saw The Prairie View Co-Eds touring throughout the entire state of Texas, leading to national gigs, highlighted by an appearance at the World Famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York City.
Although a lead soloist at Prairie View, Clora decided to relocate with her parents and family to study at The University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in late 1945.
There, she was introduced to the Bourgeoning Be-Bop scene, by her friend, trombonist and arranger, MELBA LISTON, and mixed her sound right in with the other players, specifically THE GENRE CO-FOUNDER and PIONEER, THE LEGENDARY JOHN “DIZZY” GILLESPIE.

In the Summer of 1946 Clora joined the INTERNATIONAL SWEETHEARTS OF RHTYTHM, giving her enough credentials to qualify for a cabaret (union) card and like so many other musicians and entertainers, dropped out of school to devote herself to JAZZ.
John (“Diz”) offered her the opportunity to perform with his band and also served as a mentor for the remainder of his life. However, I don’t think she ever played in his all-male band because I searched but could not find any records, videos or liner notes of them performing together.
I heard her speak at The Central Avenue Jazz Festival and she said that while she and Louis were both performing in Vegas, he came to hear and view her set! 😮😯
SHE RECORDED ONE ALBUM AS BANDLEADER ON THE MODE RECORD LABEL.
AGAINST HER WISHES, THE LABEL INSISTED SHE SING ON THE ALBUM.
PROBABLY TRYING TO APPEAL TO AN AUDIENCE, WHO PREFER VOCALS TO INSTRUMENTALS.

In 1989, Clora accepted Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev’s invitation to play five dates in the U.S.S.R., becoming the first female jazz musician to tour the Communist nation.
After which, at 62 years, she retired her trumpet and returned to vocals and lecturing as a pioneer and groundbreaking trailblazer for Black female musicians.
