RELAX

In the Most Holy and Righteous Name of Allah,
Master Fard Muhammad, To Whom Praises are Due Forever
The Beneficent, The Most Merciful

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beautiful and Beloved Black Sisters!!!!

Sisters, as the keepers of the house, we have very little down time. Right? However, we can use the time that we spend keeping house in a relaxing and therapeutic manner. I have found that attending to my household chores is very private and allows me the opportunity to ponder some of the things that are going on in my life that I may not otherwise have time to think about.

While, I’m doing laundry, I listen to music, light some incense and lose myself in the soothing, soapy water, immersing my hands in the warmth and I let go of everything that may be on my mind. I can sort out my thoughts rationally without disturbances and outside influences. I can commune with my Creator, Allah, in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, thanking Him for my husband and all of the blessings in my life; I can review in my mind other tasks that need completion; consider the best way to accomplish these tasks; and just be at peace.

When I knead the dough for my bread, I am exercising a physical activity that also is a stress reliever. If I have any pent-up emotions, I can release my tension through a productive, yet effective mechanism. Music, or soothing sounds such as the ones in the video, help calm me and make my household duties even more enjoyable.

Everybody knows that cleaning is much less arduous while listening to some good music. Our ancestors sang while they were forced to labour under hard taskmasters in order to comfort themselves and make their burdens easier to bear.

I listen to different things depending on my mood.

Recently, I bought a “Rain-Stick,” after listening to a song that featured it at the very end. It immediately reminded me of listening to the sound in my youth and prompted me to go out and buy my own. I remembered making them in school and the feeling of relaxation was rekindled after revisiting it in this particular song.

That sense of relaxation piqued a need in me for more tools and techniques that would bring about a similar sensation, which I will share with you, In Sha Allah (If it is the Will of Allah) in the future.

In the time being, enjoy the video and if you are so inclined, there are many more available on YT, which you can enjoy and share with your families.

The Man Who Inspired the Man Who Inspired Everybody Else

In the Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beautiful Sisters!!!

For some reason I am only able to post one video. I would like to post another one, but it is on YT if you care to look it up. It is an episode of an old Black T.V. show called “Soul” with Stevie Wonder performing. Click “Stevie Wonder. Live. NYC. 1972.” And it should come up. Stevie is interviewed and the Brother asked him who were his musical influences. Brother Stevie answered with a name I had never heard of – JESSE BELVIN.

I was immediately intrigued, because every musical artist that I like has always named Brother Stevie as their influence, so when Stevie named Jesse Belvin, someone completely unfamiliar to me, as his musical influence I had to find out who he was!

Well, come to find out, the Brother was extremely talented and was even positioned to rival the Great Nat King Cole. However, his life was cut short due to the vicious racism we live among here in the Wilderness of North America.

Brother Jesse had the unfortunate luck of performing at the First Integrated Concert in Little Rock, Arkansas. Prior to the performance and during the performance, white devils threatened and taunted him with murderous intentions. Well, they lived up to their promises because as Brother Jesse and his wife (who was also his manager and writer of his hit song, “Guess Who?”) were leaving Little Rock, they had a fatal car accident. It was discovered that the rear tires had been tampered with and blew out causing the accident.

If you look him up on Wikipedia, they leave out that critical piece of evidence and seem to go out of their way to make it appear as if it was just an accident. But we know better.

**********

Brother Jesse was very handsome, had a dynamic stage presence and was extremely talented. I understand completely why he had such an influence on Brother Stevie. The incidents surrounding his death also probably had an impact on Brother Stevie, who has always been very political. He is the ONLY person I’ve ever heard even mention his name. Even though Brother Jesse, wrote the hit song, “Earth Angel,” which everybody’s heard of.

In my humble opinion, I think people are afraid to talk about him. You can sense the tension in the room when Stevie mentioned him. But I think Brother Stevie has always liked to make people feel “uncomfortable.” Shake them up out of that comfort zone and think. I met him in Leimert once and he asked me my name. I told him and then he asked me my last name. Even before I joined the Nation, I knew to feel ashamed of carrying my slavemaster’s name. And leave it to Brother Stevie Wonder to bring that shame out. Being able to make people think and recognize what is really important is a noble characteristic, which Brother Stevie has mastered remarkably.

So, when Brother Stevie mentioned Brother Jesse’s name, it immediately caused a reaction. And here we are, 40 years after this interview, and just the mention of Brother Jesse Belvin’s name is still making waves. I mean why else would Brother Jesse be excluded from musical discussions of that time period? We know about everybody else, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson, Otis Redding, etc.

This man was popular! Ask anyone over 65 if they’ve ever heard of him. His song “Guess Who?” was nominated for a Grammy. But have you ever heard of him?

Pockets vs. Purses

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beloved And Beautiful Sisters,

I have been known to carry “stuff” everywhere I go. I would see other women with “stuff” and Erykah Badu’s song “Bag Lady” would immediately pop into my head and I knew I didn’t want people thinking that when they looked at me. I didn’t want to feel  like that.

So, after I got settled into my new place, I decided to downsize. I started leaving with nothing but my purse. But one day, I was talking to an older Sister-Friend and she reminded me that back in the day, women didn’t even carry purses!

In the forties and fifties, women would dress up and wear gloves and hats everywhere they went, but they didn’t carry purses. I lamented that I have my keys, my phone, my money, “How could I get by without a purse?

She told me when she was little, her mother used to make little pockets in her clothes for her to keep her money and pin her keys to her clothes. I thought, “Why not?”

So, I altered some of my garments and hid a pocket on the pants-skirt and tried going out without a purse. My trip was so much easier! I wasn’t fumbling in my purse looking for my money, or my keys or my phone. I had everything right there in my hidden pocket.

I also felt much safer. Carrying a purse carries the added risk of your valuables being snatched away, without a moment’s notice, so you have to be on guard at all times. With all of my belongings secure in my pocket, I walked down the street comfortably knowing that no one even knew where my belongings were!

Libertad.

HONEY

BISMILLAH

freegreatpicture.com-6741-honey

In regard to you who suffer from sugar diabetes, fasting and staying away from sugar and starchy foods is far better than having your limbs cut off your body because of your foolish carelessness in eating sweets and starchy foods all times of the day. Cut out that sugar; do not use any at all. Use honey...”
How To Eat To Live

“And thy Lord revealed to the bee: Make hives in the mountains and in the trees and in what they build,

Then eat of all the fruits and walk in the ways of thy Lord submissively. There comes forth from their bellies a beverage of many hues, in which there is healing for men. Therein is surely a sign for a people who reflect. (Holy Quran, 16:68, 69)

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beautiful Asiatic Sisters!

You may have noticed that I use honey in all of my recipes as a sweetener instead of sugar. Someone told me that they use pig blood to make the liquid sugar from the sugar cane to crystallize. I don’t know how true that is, but I don’t want to take any chances. The pig is poison and anything Allah says “Thou shall not do” the whiteman says “Thou shall do” or “Thou should do.” So, it would not surprise me in the least if they do use pig blood in crystallized sugar. I have had too many surprises after reading the ingredients in foods that you would never think would have pork or its byproducts in them.

Honey is much “cooler” too. It is just beautiful to look at and handle. I like things that make me feel good. Allah Promised to place us in Heaven AT ONCE upon our submission to Him and I bear witness. My life is Heaven. I find pleasure in so many things! Sunny Days. Rainy Days. Candles. Frankincense. Sunsets. Sunrises. Hummingbirds. Stars. The Moon. Flowers. Beaches. Looking around my surroundings and being grateful for everything Allah has blessed me with. Being able to share the Divine Supreme Wisdom Teachings with my Brothers and Sisters online and in person… I can go on and on…

Honey is one of Allah’s Blessings for us since the beginning. Heaven is often referred to as “The Land of Milk and HONEY”. Well, I have milk and honey on a daily basis. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) taught us that “Death Settles It All.” There is no Heaven after we die. That is slavery teachings. Our enemy, the devil Caucasian slave-masters made us to believe that we would go to Heaven after we die, while they were enjoying Heaven right here on Earth!

It makes those of us who are awake to their lies so angry with them. But it also makes you want to teach your Brothers and Sisters the Truth so that they too can experience Heaven while they live. A Muslim is not a Muslim unless she wants for her Sister what she wants for herself. And I want all of my Beautiful Black Sisters to live in Heaven as I am. Al Hamdulillah (All Praise is due to Allah.)

So, Sisters, I am going to tell you where I have found the best price for honey. SMART & FINAL. You can buy 5 lbs. for $13.49. That’s $2.69 a pound! It goes on sale rather often too. And you can get it for $10.49. which is $2.10 a pound. Ralph’s, which is owned by Kroger, sells their 5 lb. bottle for $25, which is $5.00 a pound, and $11.51 more per bottle ($14.51 when it’s on sale), just to give you a comparison.

I know, I know, you think I should not say anything so that it won’t be sold out when I go to buy it, but I love you all and I trust in Master Fard Muhammad, to Whom Praise is due forever, to provide.

Here are some delicious variations on Milk & Honey.

HOT CHOCOLATE MILK & HONEY

Measure out your milk. I like to used milk and cream. Heat it.

Pour some honey into your mug or coffee cup. Add a heaping teaspoon of cocoa. I also like to add a few drops of vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom. Mix well.

Add milk. Stir.

*Note: You must mix the cocoa with the honey first, or else the cocoa won’t dissolve into the milk.

It’s very good cold too!

STRAWBERRY MILK & HONEY

Cut up a few fresh strawberries. (If you are making a lot you can put it in the blender for a better mix.) Add honey to the strawberries. Pour milk into it. Stir.

*This works with Peaches and Mangoes too!

But with peaches and mangoes I cut up the fruit, put them in the blender, mix some milk/cream and honey, add the milk/cream and honey to the fruit and then blend. So good!

Now Beloved Sisters, this is no substitute for eating fresh fruit. It’s just a little treat.

Beautiful Sisters, I really hope you take advantage of the wonderful blessings Allah has for you. Honey is more expensive, yes, but you are worth it and your family is worth it. SETTLE ONLY FOR THE BEST! You deserve it!

Allah Controls The Weather

Bismillah

Weather

Whenever you awake and find your inner light is gray;
May I suggest a simple remedy to make your day?
Open up your windows and then open wide your eyes.
Let your vision feast upon a golden yellow sunrise.
You might be aching ’cause the one you love is far away;
Thinking it’s impossible to make it through another day.
You can feel better take it from me.
Just look at the colors of the falling Autumn leaves.
Let them put you at ease.

As long as we have the weather,
The dark skies that find us will send a clear day to remind us,
As long as we have the weather;
The Sunlight will guide us and the Rainbows will surely find us.

God Created Changing Seasons Not in Vain.
The Beauty of the Weather’s Here With Some Distraction From Our Pain.
Let The Warm Summer’s Night Romance you;
Let a Winter Snowfall Entrance you;
You don’t have to pay NOTHING to take in the view.
Let the Winter Wind Blow your Pain Away.
Let the Blue Skies be your Secret Get-Away.
I Got the Anecdote to Keep You Cool.
You Should Loosen Up Because Nature Has No Rules.

As long as we have the weather,
The dark skies that find us will send a clear day to remind us,
As long as we have the weather;
The Sunlight will guide us and the Rainbows will surely find us.
