Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim
As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beautiful Sisters,
I play the tambourine and since I take it everywhere I go, I decided to make a bag for it. If there is ANYTHING YOU WANT TO LEARN HOW TO DO GOOGLE or YOUTUBE it! There is no excuse for saying, “I Don’t Know.” Say, “Let me Google it.” This is intelligent.
So when I decided to make a bag, I went to YouTube and just typed in, “How to crochet a messenger bag”. Be specific. I knew I wanted a bag I could wear across my torso. A lot of videos came up, but there was one for a circular bag that I thought would be perfect for my tambo. So I watched the complete video first. Whenever you follow a tutorial, recipe or pattern, always watch or read the whole thing FIRST. Don’t just start. I get excited sometimes but I have learned to take the time to watch the video, read the recipe or pattern first. It removes any unexpected surprises. Trust.
As you can see, mine is a little bit different. I wanted mine to be big enough to hold my tambourine, so I started with seven stitches instead of five. But the bigger difference is that I inserted a piece between the two sides to give it a greater width. I learned how to do that when I made some houseshoes for my Honey-Stick. Here is a link to that tutorial.
Anyway, I just crocheted a “scarf” according to the dimensions that Allah Guided me to make (8 stitches). Sisters, before you start ANY project, even before you watch the video, say “Bismillah”, please. This will ensure you finish with the project ALLAH WANTS for you or whomever your project is for. This will also ensure that your project will be THE BEST that you can possibly create. ALLAH only wants THE BEST FOR US. Seeking His Divine Guidance Before and While We Create Is The Most Intelligent Thing We Can Do.
The most common translation of “Bismillah” is “In the Name of Allah” But it means much more than this but I have to get my Holy Quran before I lie and start making stuff up. Let’s see. Okay, here is the correct full translation, “WITH THE GUIDANCE OF ALLAH, THE BENEFICENT, THE MOST MERCIFUL”.
How Can You Go Wrong?
Okay, I wrote down the directions for my bag as I crocheted the first side, so that the second side would be congruent. However, when I finished the second side it didn’t LOOK as if it was as big as the first side so I did another couple of rows. When you follow the Divine Guidance of Allah, mistakes don’t matter. If you’re not sure about something – ANYTHING – ASK ALLAH. And you can be POSITIVE!!!!!!!!
Ask ALLAH What Colors To Use.
Okay, to recapitulate, make your two sides. Make your “scarf”. Connect scarf to the two sides according to how the slipper video teaches to attach the bottom sole. I started at the top of the side. Then just connect the ends of the “scarf” In the same manner.
Here are the Written Instructions for the two sides.
