I am almost positive this was the first cartoon with BLACK PEOPLE.

Racism all through it.

I cannot imagine how they withstood it.

In this episode they are prevented from performing AND The “Michael Look” is RAGS.

But we got to see Black People on television as children AND SOME GROOVY MUSIC!!!

THIS WAS MY FAVORITE CARTOON. I cannot explain what lengths I would go to so I wouldn’t miss it!

Almost as bad as what they went through!!! Well, one day I watched every single episode on YouTube and you can too.

I wasn’t going to say anything yet. I’m reading Jermaine’s book.

Let me just say this. When I went to Summer Camp in 1981 or prior, he and William Williams were on the wall of my bunk.

But always a special place in my heart. I’m also almost positive we knew each other.

I am on many records.

As a child whenever someone in L.A. needed children on a record they got our church’s children’s choir. WEST ANGELES CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST where Stevie Wonder is the Musical Director.

So, I read Michael’s book not too long ago but he wrote it in the eighties so Big Brother (and their family has something I wish I knew what it felt like) picks up and tells us about his perspective on what he and his family felt watching Michael soar.

They were the closest.

Mikail discussed how he felt the empty space after having Jermaine always on his left for so many years, when he and Hazel married.

Sidenote and I have told him this. (We were friends on FB before they booted me) I really think Joseph and Berry made an agreement to break them up after fourteen years.

Just enough time to produce grandchildren.

But they are super private and understandably so.

I think it is imperative to fabricate information given to the public in order to retain your peace, especially when it comes to children.

Jermaine wrote that Mikail said “If you really want to understand me. Listen to CHILDHOOD.”

He wrote “Have you seen my childhood?”

Such a profound question.

I really really pondered.

Of course. We have seen you as a child. But no we did not see a CHILDHOOD.

Fortunately, he had the unwavering love and support of his family that overstood everything he was able to make up for as a bigger child!

And he accepted his own.

Which unfortunately, even Jermaine seems to want us to forget.

His son Jaafar (an Arabic name) stars in the most recent screen adaptation.

I couldn’t take it.

First the overt omission deliberately intended to erase his conversion to Islam.

Now the other reason seems so trivial.

Nevertheless, seeing BLACK BOYS ON TELEVISION MADE ME FEEL LIKE WE COULD BE EQUAL WITH THE OTHER PEOPLE ON TELEVISION!!!

Without them there may not have been any others.

I think Huey’s character makes up for the racism in both shows.

Aaron got to say and do so much with the soapbox handed down from the Jacksons.

He turned it into a podium.

I just got kicked of Facebook and IG (Metaverse) for the exact same thing.

I feel free.

THE LIVE PERFORMANCES ARE WHAT DREW ME IN.

“Who’s gonna be on Soul Train today?”

The answer determined what time I was gonna leave for the mall or go outside and play when I was younger.

I am so happy that someone uploaded this clip of D.C. getting his groove on!

Man, who knew?
