THE LOVE OF DOING LAUNDRY

BISMILLAHI RAHMANI RAHIM

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beloved and Beautiful Sisters!

As the woman of the house, we are responsible for the maintenance of our family’s wardrobes. It is our duty to ensure our family members always have clean and pressed clothes to wear every day.

We are taught in THE LAW OF THE M. G. T. CLASS: “Girls and women must be taught how to please their husbands, by keeping herself and her home unsurpassed by others. Meet her husband with a smile. Please him with that he desire both cooking and laundering. Let no woman beat you in anything when it comes to intelligence.”

We should find joy and pleasure in doing our family’s laundry. Even as we are planning to do our family’s laundry, we should be filled with thoughts of gratitude and happiness over the fact that Allah has chosen us to be His People and that He Has Blessed us with the means to wear beautiful garments to cover our nakedness.

jgM2MBicYief4UwTbUNyqy9DOyw

Like everything, laundry should be done in The Name of Allah. Before we begin, we should say, “Bismillah” (In the Name of Allah) to ensure that as we go about our Divine Duty of Laundering, we are able to complete our tasks competently and efficiently. Also, so that we will be able to maintain our composure and patience if we are interrupted by our children or other matters that may arise.

Personally, I hand wash all of my family’s laundry. It is more economical and practical than going to the Laundrymat. I can do Laundry at my convenience and without having to lug a heavy sack full of dirty clothes out of the house. And I save about $40 per month.

Hand-washing is very relaxing and therapeutic; like kneading dough. I listen to The Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him) or play some good music, and as I submerge my hands in the soothing, warm and clean-scented water, rhythmically and purposefully “kneading” the clothes, I keep in mind that because of my noble work, I am going to be rewarded with fresh-smelling and sparkling clean garments for my family to wear.

images (3)

Now, you may be wondering why I have a picture of “Ivory” soap on display…. Well, it is because Ivory is the soap that Our Beloved Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him) told us is “The Best Soap”. So that’s what I use to wash my family’s clothes. Yes, “Ivory” soap. No, they don’t make “Ivory” Laundry soap. I learned when I was living in a shelter that you can use any kind of soap for any kind of cleaning. I once saw a Sister use shampoo to wash her dishes! So, I use the “Ivory” bar soap to launder my clothes. I just put a couple bars into some hot water with a little washing soda and let the clothes soak for about ten-fifteen minutes. Then I wash them. It gets my clothes really clean.

Laundry detergent is extremely overpriced and full of toxins, so I started looking for “greener” alternatives a few months ago. I found plenty, but they were exorbitant to make and called for questionable ingredients (Borax). So, I decided to just save myself the time and effort and just threw the whole bar of soap in the tub. Now, I use a couple full bars and maybe a few that are too small for any other use, and I can truthfully say I am completely happy with the results.

HeinzWhiteVinegar1

After I wash each item, I put it in the sink, so that the soap residue still in the tub won’t get on the clean clothes. When I’ve finished washing the entire load, I drain the tub and refill it with cool water and about a cup of vinegar. Vinegar is a natural fabric softener, removes soap scum and brightens colors. It also prevents yellowing and static cling (if you use a dryer).

I don’t use a dryer. I hang the clothes on my back awning so they can dry in the sun. Undergarments I spread on the bed and turn on the ceiling fan. By the end of the day, usually sooner, everything is ready to be folded or ironed.

ft_hangvfold_l

Pre-ironing your family’s clothes makes so much more sense than ironing right before you’re ready to get dressed! You can take your time and do a thorough job. Just do it when you have time. If everything is already pressed, your family will have a selection of clothes to wear everyday. This makes everybody happy. 🙂

Dear Sisters, we should cultivate The Love of Doing Laundry. It was Divinely given to us as part of our responsibility of Keeping House. If you plan to do laundry well before you run out of clothes, you will not stress over anything. You can relish in the time you spend keeping up your family’s “image” and take pride in the fact that they look so good due to the love and effort you put into something as important, yet simple and easy as Doing the Laundry. Learn to Love it!

S (SCIENCE) T (TECHNOLOGY) E (ENGINEERING) M (MATHEMATICS)

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beloved And Beautiful Sisters!

Science is probably THE most fascinating subject in the entire universe. TRUTHFULLY, it is the Universe! The study of Science makes an otherwise boring school day, fun and exciting! And through interesting and educational science experiments, makes it interactive.

Understanding and being able to communicate Science is a comprehensive method of measuring one’s knowledge; showing and proving that you possess the knowledge of how and why things work.

The Definitions of SCIENCE, According to Dictionary.com are:

  1. a branch of knowledge or study dealing with a body of facts or truths systematically arranged and showing the operation of general laws: the mathematical sciences.
  2. a systematic knowledge of the physical or material world gained through observation and experimentation.
  3. any of the branches of natural or physical science.
************************
The Honorable Elijah Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) taught us in MESSAGE TO THE BLACKMAN IN AMERICA (page 41) that “Knowledge is the result of learning and is a force or energy that makes its bearer accomplish or overcome obstacles, barriers and resistance.”
According to Dictionary.com, that could also be the definition of Engineering:
1. the art or science of making practical application of the knowledge of pure sciences,
as physics or chemistry, as in the construction of engines, bridges, buildings, mines, ships, and chemical plants.
“At the proper time we will need to know all types of Engineering. We have to re-build for ourselves the type of Civilization that Allah demands us to accept. In words to say–we have to rebuild a Nation. Engineering is the first trade that will be in demand.” – Messenger Elijah Muhammad
SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING and MATHEMATICS are elements of Knowledge, about which we should enthusiastically encourage our children to become passionate. These are the essential building blocks for building civilization. Our Beloved Messenger, The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad (May the Peace and the Blessings of Allah forever be upon him) taught us that one must have knowledge of ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS, in particular, in order to build a civilization.

Instill in your children, a desire to Do Something For their own Black Self and Kind by educating them as to the importance of STEM subjects toward building our own Black Nation. This can be done in a number of different ways.

974481088

* Make your children KEENLY AWARE of the fact that SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS AND ENGINEERING ALL BEGAN WITH BLACK PEOPLE. THIS IS THE ONE THING THAT THE DEVIL DOES NOT WANT OUR CHILDREN TO KNOW. You must educate your children about the origins of these indispensable sciences, especially if your children attend the devil’s schools where they will be taught that white people discovered all of the sciences and mathematical breakthroughs and that Black people discovered nothing. This reinforces white-supremacist ideals and fosters an attitude of self-hate and indifference toward their own Black people. Educate your children as to the TRUE HISTORY of the whiteman, i.e. that when white people were living like beasts in the hills and cavesides of Europe, Black people were dwelling in highly advanced and rightly civilized societies in Arabia and Africa.

I found in my search for specifically BLACK centered Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, a list of books documenting the fact that BLACK PEOPLE discovered all of these subjects. I am going to include the link so you can choose whichever books are interesting to you at this stage in your acquisition of KNOWLEDGE and share what you learn with your children.

* Create a nurturing environment of exploring STEM subjects in your home, where you can give your children a hands on experience in the wonders of SCIENCE. Let them take your old electronic devices apart, or anything with moving parts. Even if they don’t understand how it works, they might be able to reassemble it, becoming familiar with the different parts and how they all fit together. Plan and then visit Science Centers. Cultivate your child’s love of science-in-action by doing experiments with him. Here is an online resource for TONS of websites you can peruse to find simple science experiments you can try with your children. ALL CHILDREN LOVE SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS. Make Science easily accessible and routine. Surround your child with scientific images (Periodic Tables and Solar System posters, Constructive Toys and Games like Erector Sets, &c.) YOU have to envelop your child in STEM subjects. Make them available and approachable. It rests on your shoulders….

242986_1953445430271_2828693_o

Bring science and technology into perspective by pointing out its daily applications. Teach your children how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics have led to the establishment of most of the things we use in our everyday lives, such as running water, electricity, and transportation. Have your child imagine what life was like before we had these things. By explaining the history of technology, your child will begin to comprehend that technology is related to building and advancing civilization and makes our daily lives much more productive and enjoyable.

* Interest your children in watching television shows or videos that promote STEM subjects. “The Magic School Bus” is excellent for inadvertently teaching science to young children. (Note: If you click on the YouTube icon on the bottom right of the screen it will take you to the YouTube website where more “Magic School Bus” videos will appear.)

Also, “Bill Nye the Science Guy” teaches many different scientific concepts very engagingly.

The “Eyewitness” TV Series has some excellent videos about a range of different STEM subjects.

Disney also has a series of VERY INFORMATIVE AND ENTERTAINING engineering-based videos called “The Science of Disney Imagineering”. The Disney videos are exceptionally good, but quite expensive.

Fortunately, all of these videos can be found at your local library. (Note “The Magic School Bus” and “Eyewitness” began as book series, so you can also incorporate these into your child’s world of science and encourage your children to only read and explore non-fiction books.)

For older children, PBS has a series called “Design Squad Nation” which demonstrates to young people (pre-teens) that even at what they may consider a young age, they are perfectly capable of mastering complicated engineering projects. This program makes something that most young people don’t even understand (ENGINEERING), “do-able” and actually quite intriguing and definitely worth investigating. You can find it at DESIGN SQUAD NATION. Just click “Watch”.

ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE INQUIRIES. If your child asks you something, with today’s technology, there is no reason for you to not be able to give him an informed and educated answer. Master the Science of Finding the Truth on the Internet. Rely on several sources and demonstrate to your children that every answer to every question is right at their fingertips. GOOGLE IT! This will feed your child’s natural curiosity, and you know what they say, “Curiosity is the Mother of Invention.” Or something like that….

(*I just GOOGLED it, it’s “NECESSITY is the MOTHER OF INVENTION”. But CURIOSITY has to be up there too. 🙂 )

In short, it is impossible to exhaust the resources available to you on the Internet when it comes to educating your children in STEM subjects. Here are a few more good sites.

Getting Rid Of Clutter….

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum!

One of the things Our Saviour, Master Fard Muhammad, to Whom praise is due forever, promised us upon our submission to Him is A GOOD HOME. He Wants Us To Live In A GOOD HOME and the best way to ensure our home is a GOOD HOME is to keep it clean. It may not be spacious but it can and should be comfortable and, most importantly, clean.

In The Nation of Islam’s Muslim Girls’ Training and General Civilization Class (M. G. T. & G. C. C.), we are taught that the first step in cleaning and maintaining a clean home is to GET RID OF CLUTTER.

PROPER STEPS TO GET RID OF CLUTTER

* A good house keeper knows when it is time to throw a thing out.

* Keeping unnecessary items (old papers and magazines, clothes no one wears, old letters, cards, books, bills, toys, dishes, shoes etc.) causes clutter.

*  If items must be kept, they should be kept neatly and put away.

*  Each item should have a specific practical place. For example, toys can be kept in a toybox in the play area.

* Some things may need several homes: pencil holders should be placed in the kitchen, in the office, near the computer and near the phone.

* Wicker baskets are great “homes” for things. They can hold magazines in the den, pine cones in the bedroom, or combs, brushes and hair accessories in the bathroom. They are also decorative, look good in almost any home decor, and keep things very close to where they will be used.

* The more convenient it is to put something away, the less likely it is to end up as clutter.

* Teaching children (or other family members) to put things away can be accomplished by consistent modeling and insistence. Organizational skills can be taught in stages. Start teaching them from the cradle.

* Getting rid of clutter and learning new habits can happen over night. Start by not allowing new items (clutter items) to linger in your home. Flyers, newspapers, bulletins, school newsletters, letters and bills are good examples. Though not all incoming clutter is paper-based, probably over half of it is. Once read or dealt with, anything of paper origin should be filed or put in the garbage can.

* A lot of incoming clutter hangs around the house simply because it was not dealt with as soon as it arrived.

* One piece of invaluable advice is to make it a rule to never pick up a piece of paper twice. As much as possible, paper should only end up in your hands once. Often we read things and then put them somewhere to be put away later. Later, of course, the entire thing must be sorted out of a pile of other junk, and reread. If things are dealt with immediately (or, in the case of bills, filed away immediately), they don’t become clutter.

* Another thing that adds to disorganization and clutter in the home is that many people hang onto paper clutter (and other kinds of clutter as well) because they think they may need it down the road. All clutter, as soon as it has been dealt with, or has served its purpose, should be thrown out.

??????????????????????????

Schedule a day, that you will spend removing all of the clutter in your home. Arm yourself and your children with garbage bags, and the will to clean. Take a deep breath, and throw away all of the unnecessary items. ANYTHING that is NOT ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for your family’s well-being should be thrown out. Ask yourself, “Do I need this?” “When was the last time I used/wore/needed this?” If the answer is “No” or “I can’t remember” then that particular item is definitely fodder for the trash can or The Salvation Army.

Plan to spend all day clearing your house of CLUTTER. That way you can do the most thorough job without time restraints. The larger the home or family, the more time it will take. You may even have to schedule multiple days to complete each room but don’t quit until the job is complete. And don’t get sidetracked and waste time reminiscing and getting all sentimental. Our Beloved Messenger (May the Peace and the Blessings of Allah Forever Be Upon Him) taught us that we should not hold onto items based on sentimental value.

* Also be aware, it is going to get messy, but we have to destroy before we can rebuild.

Take breaks periodically, and celebrate your accomplishments as they come! When you finish your bedroom, go out and buy some fresh flowers to enhance the beauty of your new clutter-free boudoir. When you finish the kitchen, make some homemade ice cream and enjoy it on your new clutter-free island.

7

Once you have gotten rid of all of the clutter, you must now make a conscious effort to actively apply the bullet points listed above, to maintain a clutter-free environment. Once a month, go through your junk drawer in the kitchen and throw out any items no longer of use. Clean out your file cabinet of all the warranties for the items you just threw away. You should also clean out your closets with the change of seasons. And set aside time every day for dusting. Dusting requires that you put away any items out of place. Doing this daily helps prevent clutter from building up.

Pretty soon, you will develop an internal radar that will alert you to items that are out of place, and you will instinctively and immediately pick them up and put them away. This way, your house will remain clean and you will never have to do a major “Clutter Removal” again. Allah U Akbar! (Allah Is The Greatest!)

DRINKING, JESUS AND MY PEOPLE

Many white people accuse the so-called Negroes, who are really members of the Holy Tribe of Shabazz, of being drunkards and thieves, and (wrongly) advise them to oppose Islam because it forbids Muslims to drink intoxicating drinks.

I would like to ask the accusers: Who makes the intoxicating drinks – the white Christians or the so-called Negroes? And doesn’t their (Christian) government legalize the sale and drinking of strong drinks? And did they (the devils) find that my people were thieves and drunkards in their Native Land, four hundred years ago, when they were kidnapped by John Hawkins and brought over here into slavery? And haven’t the white people been their master and teacher since? Then whatever my people (the so-called Negroes) are today, the devils (the white Christian race) made them that.

disinfect

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beloved and Beautiful Housekeeping Sisters!!

Our Saviour, Allah, Master Fard Muhammad, To Whom Praise is Due Forever, promised us Money, A GOOD HOME and Friendship in All Walks of Life upon our submission to Him. We want to ensure that our GOOD HOME is free from as many chemicals and toxins as possible.

I have been doing a lot of research on the subject of natural disinfectants and have come up with nothing.

Many people claim lemon and vinegar are natural disinfectants, but there has been absolutely no scientific basis for these claims. I have searched.

Baking soda is a natural disinfectant but it is not strong enough to work in homes. According to Wikipedia:

“Common sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) has antifungal properties, and some antiviral and antibacterial properties, though those are too weak to be effective at a home environment.”

Benefect is the ONLY natural disinfectant I have been able to find that is actually EPA approved as a disinfectant; meaning it has been tested and approved to kill bacteria.
Benefect’s website lists thyme oil as the active ingredient.
I’ve seen some blogs on the antimicrobial properties of thyme oil and some homemade “disinfectants” made from thyme oil and fresh thyme. However, none of these homemade “disinfectants” have been scientifically tested and proven to kill germs.
I was considering trying out some of the homemade “disinfectants” made from thyme, but if they have not been proven to kill germs, then that is sort of defeating the purpose, right?
So, I looked up Disinfectants on Wikipedia and it listed bleach as the best household disinfectant.

“By far the most cost-effective home disinfectant is the commonly used chlorine bleach (a 5% solution of sodium hypochlorite), which is effective against most common pathogens, including difficult organisms such as tuberculosis (mycobacterium tuberculosis), hepatitis B and C, fungi, and antibiotic-resistant strains of staphylococcus and enterococcus. It even has some disinfectant action against parasitic organisms.

“It kills the widest range of pathogens of any inexpensive disinfectant, is extremely powerful against viruses and bacteria at room temperature, is commonly available and inexpensive, and breaks down quickly into harmless components (primarily table salt and oxygen).

“To use chlorine bleach effectively, the surface or item to be disinfected must be clean. In the bathroom or when cleaning after pets, special caution must be taken to wipe up urine first, before applying chlorine, to avoid reaction with the ammonia in urine, causing toxic gas by-products. A 1-to-20 solution in water is effective simply by being wiped on and left to dry. The user should wear rubber gloves and, in tight airless spaces, goggles.

“Commercial bleach tends to lose strength over time, whenever the container is opened. Old containers of partially used bleach may no longer have the labeled concentration.”

Now, many people have been known to steer clear of bleach because of the negatives:

“It is caustic to the skin, lungs, and eyes (especially at higher concentrations); like many common disinfectants, it has a strong odor and extreme caution must be taken not to combine it with ammonia or any acid (such as vinegar), as this can cause noxious gases to be formed.”

The “100 Dos and Don’ts of the M. G. T.,”  #94 reads: “We use Clorox (bleach) for dish-washing.” All it takes is about a tablespoon of bleach for a whole sink full of dishwater.

The 100 Dos and Dont’s were written prior to the advent of the widescale use of dishwashers, but I just Googled if dishwashers disinfect and the answer is yes, so it is not necessary to use bleach when using a dishwasher.

In order to kill bacteria, the water has to reach one hundred and forty degrees farenheit, which according to Google is “easily reached in a dishwasher.” But in a sink, you would not be able to stand water that hot, so continue to use the bleach.

I would have to say that, although bleach seems a bit potent, it is the most effective, tested and approved DISINFECTANT for us to use.

I know, I know, I wanted to use lemons too, but it is better to use something that is actually going to do the job of killing germs and keeping us free from sickness than to use something “natural” that doesn’t actually work….

grocery store layout

(Don’t eat cereals, peanut butter, nuts nor dried fruit nor canned beans. Processed cereals and nuts are hard on the digestive system and you should eat FRESH fruit and dry beans.)

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beloved and Beautiful Sisters!

Dear Sisters, as the woman of the house, we are responsible for doing the shopping for our family’s needs. We must make wise decisions and avoid impulse shopping and purchasing unhealthy and toxic foods and products.

The best way to shop, when visiting the supermarket is “The U.” If you notice, most grocery stores are arranged according to the diagram above. Fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, breads and fish (which should be the basis of our diet) are located on the perimeter. Avoid the meat section as The Honourable Elijah Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) taught us in How To Eat To Live, that, “No Meat Is Good For You.” But, of course, they’re going to offer it to you because they want to commercialize on that which will kill you. So, use wisdom and shun the meat section.

The processed, packaged, full of preservatives, artificial colors and artificial flavors (slow-death), UNHEALTHY foods are located down the aisles in the center of the store. The only items we should look for on these aisles are such foods as flour and beans.

If you are in the habit of going down every aisle just picking out things that suit your fancy, stop it!! This is impulse buying and it is a wasteful and prodigal practice.

Always make a list

And, stick to the items on your list. Our Beloved Messenger (May the Peace and the Blessings of Allah forever be upon him) taught us that, “Simple foods are the best”.

You do not need to be trying out every new food the devil manufactures. Lest you find yourself trying out a new coffin. Simplify your diet so that you can live a long time in good health and with a youthful and beautiful appearance.

This way your selection of foods will not vary too much and you will become very familiar with the ingredients, location and prices of the foods you purchase. You will find your grocery shopping to be easy, familiar, cost effective and time efficient, going down the aisles very rarely, with most of your purchases being made in “The U”.

WHO IS THAT MYSTERY GOD?

BISMILLAH

Allah is God

Who is that Mystery God?

Part 1, Chapter 1

For thousands of years, the people who did not have the knowledge of the person, or reality, of God worshiped their own ideas of God. He has been made like many things other than what He really is. The Christians refer to God as a “Mystery” and a “Spirit” and divide Him into thirds. One part they call the Father, another part the Son, and the third part they call the Holy Ghost – which makes the three, one. This is contrary to both nature and mathematics. The law of mathematics will not allow us to put three into one. Our nature rebels against such a belief of God being a mystery and yet the Father of a son and a Holy Ghost without a wife or without being something in reality. We wonder how can the son be human, and the father a mystery (unknown), or a spirit? Who is this Holy Ghost that is classified as being the equal of the father and the son?

The Christians do not believe in God as being a human being, yet they believe in Him as being the Father of all human beings. They also refer to God as He, Him, Man, King and The Ruler. They teach that God sees, hears, talks, walks, stands, sits, rides, and flies; that He grieves or sorrows; and that He is interested in the affairs of human beings. They also teach that once upon a time He made the first man like Himself, in the image and likeness of Himself, but yet they believe that He, Himself, is not a man or human. They preach and prophesy of His coming and that He will be seen on the Judgment Day but is not man. They cannot tell us what He looks like, yet man is made like Him and in the image of God, and yet they still say that He is a mystery (unknown).

How can one teach the people to know God if he, himself, does not know God? If you try teaching the Christians that God is also a human being, they will say that you are crazy, that you do not believe in God and that you are an infidel. In the meantime, while they admit that He is a Mystery God (unknown), they teach not to make any likeness of Him; yet they adorn their walls and churches with pictures, images and statues like human beings.

Can God be a Mystery God and yet send prophets to represent Himself? Have the prophets been representing a God that is not known (Mystery)? They tell us that they heard God’s voice speaking to them in their own language. Can a spirit speak a language while being an immaterial something? If God is not material, what pleasure would He get out of material beings and the material universe? What is the basis of spirit? Is the spirit independent of material?

Actually, who is that Mystery God? We should take time and study what has and is being taught to us. Study the word and examine it, and if it be the Truth, lay hold to it. To teach people that God is a Mystery God is to teach them that God is unknown. There is no truth in such teaching. Can one teach that which he himself does not know?

If one teaches a thing that he himself does not know, he can be charged with lying to the people. The word “mystery,” according to the English dictionaries, is something that has not been or cannot be – something beyond human comprehension. The unintelligent, or rather ones without divine knowledge, seem to delight themselves in representing the God as something mysterious, unknown.

Such teaching (a mystery God) that God is a mystery makes the prophets’ teachings of God all false. There should be a law made and enforced upon such teachers until they have been removed from the public.

According to Allah, the origin of such teachings as a Mystery God is from the devils! It was taught to them by their father, Yakub, 6,000 years ago. They know today that God is not a mystery but will not teach it. He (devil), the god of evil, was made to rule the nations of earth for 6,000 years, and naturally he would not teach obedience to a God other than himself.

So, a knowledge of the true God of Righteousness was not represented by the devils. The true God was not to be made manifest to the people until the god of evil (devil) has finished or lived out his time, which was allowed to deceive the nations (read Thess. 2:910, Rev. 20:3, 8-10).

The shutting up and loosing of the devil mentioned in Rev. 20:7 could refer to the time between the A.D. 570-1555 which is nearly 1,000 years that they and Christianity were bottled up in Europe by the spread of Islam by Muhammad (May the peace of Allah be upon him) and his successors.

Their being loose to deceive the nations of earth would refer to the time (A.D. 1555 to 1955) when they (John Hawkins) deceived our fathers and brought them into slavery in American and were loose (free) to travel over the earth and deceive the people.

Now their freedom is being interfered with, by the Order and Power of the God of Righteousness through the Nation of Righteousness.

For the past 6,000 years, the prophets have been predicting the coming of God who would be just and righteous. This righteous God would appear at the end of the world (the world of the white race).

Today, the God of Truth and Righteousness is making Himself manifest, that He is not anymore a mystery (unknown), but is known and can be seen and heard the earth over.

This teaching of a mystery God enslaves the minds of the ignorant. My poor people are victims of every robber. They are so pitifully blind, deaf, and dumb that it hurts, but I am going to prove to them that I am with Allah (God) and that Allah is with me, in spite of their ignorance of Allah and myself, whom He has sent. For I am not self-sent, and the world shall soon know Who it is that has sent me.

Allah (God) loves us, the so-called Negroes (Tribe of Shabazz,) so that He will give lives for our sake today. Fear not, you are no more forsaken. God is in person, and stop looking for a dead Jesus for help, but pray to Him whom Jesus prophesied would come after Him. He who is alive and not a spook.

Do you hate me because I represent Allah, the Living God, your Lord and my Lord? Can you, who believe in a mystery God (unknown), trust your Mystery to bring you bread or to defend you against your open enemies? If so, on what occasion did He help you? If God is a mystery, you are lying to the world when you say that you know Him.

He wants to be known, it is His enemy (the devil) who does not want God to be known to you and me. Do you refer to God as He, Him! These pronouns refer to a man. Do you say that you want to be like Him. Surely, you don’t want to be a spirit without form, as spirits have no material form. Your God and my God is a material Being – the Supreme of Beings.

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beloved, Beautiful and Black, Tech Savvy Sisters!!!

When I was in Jr. High School, it seemed as if EVERYBODY was telling me to go into the field of Computer Programming. But Computer Programming was so boring!! I took a computer class in the 8th grade and the extent of our programming was being able to make a word (or sentence, if you wanted to jazz it up) run continuously up the monitor’s screen. Which was hardly fascinating even for the early 80’s. And not hardly the stuff to pique the desultory interests of an artsy 12-year-old.

However, now that I bear witness to the heights to which computer technology has advanced, I am becoming increasingly more interested in the field of Computer Science, especially for my son. I am preparing him for a future wherein computers will undoubtedly play a pivotal role. Proficiency in Computer Science can only help him succeed, considering that Computer Programming is inarguably, the most sought-after profession in the world.

In the United States, we are lagging far behind other countries in the area of preparing candidates for the many positions becoming available in the field of Computer Science. The demand is greater than there are qualified candidates to fill these positions. Therefore, these positions are being outsourced to other countries. Additionally, advances in technology make it even more possible for people in other countries to fill these positions that under previous conditions would have been limited to citizens here in the United States.

This is very unfortunate, especially for Black People in America, who are suffering from the highest rate of unemployment than any other nationality in the country. If we were only trained in the field of Computer Science! It is THE fastest growing field in the country, if not the world.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

“Employment of software developers is projected to grow 30% from 2010 to 2020, much faster than the average for all occupations. The main reason for the rapid growth is a large increase in the demand for computer software.”

The statistic also reports that the median income for a Computer Software Developer is $90,530 annually and $43.52 per hour! I am really regretting not taking the advice I was given 30 years ago. Especially since computer programming skills are so beneficial to success in ANY field. Computers dominate every industry you can think of. Even doctors carry tablets with them nowadays, as opposed to clipboards of the past, as they check-up on patients.

Technology is advancing at rocket speed, so the sooner you introduce Computer Science to your children the better. I have downloaded some software designed to teach children computer programming, but it was just boring for my son. From what I have learned, programming is very intricate and takes an enormous amount of patience.

So, I have determined to learn Computer Programming and then teach my son myself. Mobile technology is the wave of the future, so I wanted to bypass the traditional method of computer programming and just dive into developing applications for mobile operating systems (OS). However, after some careful research, I decided I had better get some background skills, since I have absolutely no previous experience with computer programming. (Well, except that RAM/ROM class I took in the 8th grade 🙂 ).

From my research, I learned that Javascript is one of the best computer languages to learn because it is not limited to a specific hardware platform. It can be used on any platform such as Microsoft Windows, Linux, Solaris OS, and Mac OS. It is also based on previous well-known programming languages but because it is newer, it simplifies them and thus, makes programming easier and faster. It is also the most desired language for companies hiring new programmers.

Java offers a tutorial on its website, which is absolutely free to anyone who has the initiative to learn the language. You don’t have to enroll in college to learn how to program. You can learn right from the comfort of your own home! So, there’s no excuse not to learn. Think of your children. I’m sure they know how to use a computer, now they can learn how to program one! And they will have a head start if they decide to go into the big bucks field of Computer Science. And even if they don’t, I’m sure by the time they are ready to open their own businesses, they will be able to save a ton of money by developing their own app!

After learning how to program using Java, In sha Allah (If it is the Will of Allah) I plan to move on to developing applications on the Android operating system. You can click on the picture below to go to the Android Tutorial.

My son is a fast learner, so I’m not going to make him learn all of the basics that I feel I need.

I pray Allah, you will put your computer to good productive use and take advantage of the many opportunities available to you. Think over how BEHIND the majority of our people (who don’t own personal computers) will be in the future! Show Our Saviour, Master Fard Muhammad, To Whom Praise is Due Forever, that you are Grateful for His Blessing you with a computer, by using it to prepare your children for success and to be the absolute BEST QUALIFIED they possibly they can be. Our Beloved Messenger, The Most Honorable and Humble Elijah Muhammad (PBUH) taught us there are wide fields available to the wide-awake Blackman. We just have to qualify ourselves to take over the rule.

May Allah Bless You With Unimaginable Success In All Your Endeavors!

As-Salaam-Alaikum!

100 PER CENT ALL NATURAL HOMEMADE ALOE VERA GEL

BISMILLAHI RAHMANI RAHIM

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beloved, Beautiful and Refined Asiatic Black Sisters!

Aloe Vera is one of Allah’s Blessings to us. It has so many healing properties that it should be a staple in our home apothecaries.  Below are some of its uses and also a recipe for how to make your own 100% Natural Aloe Vera Gel.

As-Salaam-Alaikum!

EIGHT WAYS TO USE ALOE VERA

1) Like a moisturizer. Whether you are acne-prone, suffer from dryness, more serious skin conditions like psoriasis or seborrhoea dermatitis or just after an effective oil-free moisturizer, give Aloe a go. It is a natural humectant, so it increases water retention in the skin, and helps calm irritation and inflammation by feeding your skin vital nutrients, antioxidants and enzymes. Also, it greatly reduces open pores.

2) As a laxative. Though I can’t speak from personal experience on using Aloe Vera for this matter, I hear rave reviews on the wonders of juicing the entire part of the leaf to relieve constipation. Because it contains barbaloin, a solid fibrous compound, it is very effective at causing your bowel muscles to contract. It is never recommended to become reliant on laxatives, since you can develop lazy bowel syndrome, but rather for a period of 5-10 days as treatment.

3) For healthy hair. Aloe Vera can be found in some of the best shampoos and conditioners, which aren’t silicone-based. So why not apply it directly to your hair to control frizz (think eye brows too!)? The slightly acidic pH of Aloe gel will even help to seal the hair cuticle. If you ever experience an itchy or dry scalp, do apply the gel directly to your head too!

4) On burns and wounds. Aloe Vera has a lovely soothing and cooling effect, so it is often the main ingredient in creams for treating cooking burns and minor skin infections. It is well known for its anti-microbial and anti fungal properties to keep wounds clean.

5) As a shaving gel. Traditional shaving creams contain a plethora of synthetic additives, carcinogens, contaminants and other stuff, which I am no expert in, but do know for a fact, that something which may seem innocent enough has high chances of entering your blood stream via the pores of your skin. Aloe Vera is anti inflammatory, so it’s kind to skin, has a slippery gel texture, so it’s ideal for a close shave and contains 99% water, so it will even leave your legs, face or under arms hydrated.

6) For a face mask. Combine Aloe gel with a little cinnamon (a little!), high UMF raw honey and oats for a nice refreshing and taught mask. The oats are slightly course too, so when you wash the mask off, it acts like a natural scrub at the same time.

7) For digestion and immunity. Aloe contains acemanna, a powerful stimulant to the immune system. Experts from the Moores Cancer Centre at the University of California found that Aloe Vera helps the immune system by attacking abnormal cells during cancer treatments. This also helps assist digestion and absorption of nutrients, vitamins, minerals and amino acids in your diet. You can add about 2cm of aloe inner gel to desserts and smoothies.

8) For sore throat relief. On the rare occasions when my son used to get sick (he hasn’t gotten sick in about two years), and suffer from a sore throat, I used to make him a tea out of Aloe Vera. Just take the insides of the leaves and steep them in about 8 oz. of water. Sweeten it with a little honey and have your child or whomever is sick drink it.

HOW TO MAKE 100 PER CENT NATURAL ALOE VERA GEL

Pluck off a few Aloe Vera leaves.

Let hang upside down or place upright in a cup for about ten minutes until all of the yellow resin drips out (the yellow resin can irritate the skin).

Then cut the leaves into smaller pieces to make it easier to remove the insides. (See picture above).

Liquidize the insides in your blender.

Add a few drops of essential oil [for preservation]). I would recommend something soothing like Lavender.

And there you have your 100% Pure Aloe Vera Gel! Don’t worry about the froth, it will dissipate. (Be sure to keep refrigerated.)
