Chapter 4

THE COMING OF GOD:

IS HE A MAN OR A SPIRIT?

According to the dictionary of the Bible: Teman, a son of Esau by Adah, (Gen. 36:11, 15, 42) and in I Chron. 1:36, now if Habakkuk saw God come or coming from the sons of Esau (Eliphaz), then God must be a man and not a spook. If Habakkuk’s (3:3) prophecy refers to some country, town, or city, if there be any truth at all in this prophecy, then we can say that this prophet saw God as a material being belonging to the human family of the earth – and not to a spirit (ghost). In the same chapter and verse, Habakkuk saw the Holy One from Mount Paran.  This is also earthly, somewhere in Arabia. Here the Bible makes a difference between God and another person who is called the Holy One. Which one should we take for our God?  For one is called God, while another One is called Holy One. The Holy One:  His glory covered the heavens and the earth was full of His praise.

It has been a long time since the earth was full of praise for a Holy One. Even to this hour, the people do not care for Holy People and will persecute and kill the Holy One, if God does not intervene. In the fourth verse of the above chapter, it says, “He had horns coming out of his hands; and there was the hiding of His power.” Such science to represent the God’s power could confuse the ignorant masses of the world.  Two gods are here represented at the same time. (It is good that God makes Himself manifest to the ignorant world today.)

“The burning coals went forth at His feet,” has a meaning, but what is the meaning? The ignorant do not know. “The burning coals” could refer to the anger and war among the people where His foot trod within the borders of the wicked. (Here God has feet – Spirits do not have feet and hands.) This Holy One does not refer to anyone of the past – not Moses, Jesus, nor Mohammed of the past 1,300 years. “For this Holy One the perpetual hills did bow, Cushan in affliction; the curtains of the land of Midian did tremble.” (What is meant by the curtains trembling?) (Who is Cushan?)  “The mountains saw thee, they trembled.” (Who does this mean?)  “The sun and moon stood still in their habitation.”  (What does this mean?) The answers to the above questions are easy when we understand who this God called the Holy One coming from Mount Paran is.

The 13th verse should clear the way for such undertaking; for it tells us why all these great things took place on the coming of the Holy One from Mount Paran. It says: “Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people (not for all people) for the salvation with thine anointed (His Apostle). He wounded the head out of the house of the wicked by discovering the foundation unto the neck (by exposing the truth and ruling powers of the wicked race of devils).” “Cushan” represents the Black Nation which is afflicted by the white race. “The curtains of the land of Midian” could mean the falsehood spread over the people by the white race and their leaders trembling from being exposed by the truth. “The mountains” represent the great, rich and powerful political men of the wicked; they also are trembling and being divided and scattered over the earth. “The Holy One” is God in person and not a spirit!

CUCUMBER EYE GEL

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beloved Black Queens!

We should always try to look our absolute BEST! One way we can improve our appearance is by doing everything we can to eliminate puffiness under our eyes.

Periorbital puffiness is caused by several different factors. The most common is simply: aging. As we age, the skin under our eyes becomes thinner and the fluids that uphold our eyes begin to collect in this skin under the eyes.

Periorbital puffiness is usually more prominent upon arising from sleep. People who sleep on their stomachs have periorbital puffiness more often than people who sleep on their backs. And, people who sleep on their sides, generally have more periorbital puffiness in one eye than in the other.

This is because while we are sleeping in these positions, gravity causes fluids to build up and collect in the thin skin under our eyes. It is recommended that if one suffers from periorbital puffiness, she should sleep on her back and elevate her head with an extra pillow, in order to prevent these fluids from building up under her eyes.

You should make this change in your sleeping habits soon, Sisters, because if it is not remedied, after a few years, periorbital puffiness can become permanent!

There are other causes of periorbital puffiness, such as allergies, and eating salty foods.

The causes of allergies should try to be avoided by:

  • Staying indoors when pollen counts are highest, usually in mid-morning and early evening. Close the windows and run the air conditioner (window fans can draw in pollen and mold spores). If you go out, wearing eyeglasses or big sunglasses can help block pollen from your eyes. Driving? Keep the windows closed and run the air conditioner.
  • Limit your exposure to dust mites by encasing your pillows in allergen-impermeable covers. Wash bedding frequently in water that’s at least 130 F. If your mattress is more than a few years old, consider getting a new one. Old mattresses are often teeming with allergens.
  • Clean floors with a damp mop. Sweeping tends to stir up rather than get rid of allergens. Especially if a pet shares the house with you, consider replacing rugs and carpets, which trap and hold allergens, with hardwood, tile, or other flooring materials that are easier to clean. Go with blinds instead of curtains.
  • To stop mold from growing inside your home, keep the humidity under 50%.  That might mean using a dehumidifier, especially in a damp basement. If so, clean the dehumidifier regularly. Clean your kitchen and bathrooms with a bleach solution.
  • If your pet is causing your allergies, try to keep it outside as much as possible. At the very least, keep it out of your bedroom. Don’t let it share your bed.
  • Don’t rub your eyes. That’s likely to make symptoms worse. Try cool compresses instead.

Periorbital puffiness due to salt can be eliminated by limiting your salt intake.  Excess salt encourages fluid retention and may lead to puffy eyes.

Some temporary remedies for periorbital puffiness include cucumbers, wet tea bags, and potatoes, which are all natural astringents – chemical compounds that tends to shrink or constrict body tissues, thereby reducing puffiness.

You can simply grate a fresh potato and apply it to your eyes for about fifteen minutes. Or wet two teabags and put them in the freezer for fifteen minutes, then place them over your eyes until the swelling goes down.

Here is a recipe for cucumber eye gel, which significantly reduces periorbital puffiness in a relatively short amount of time.

INGREDIENTS

Cauliflower
Garlic
Onion
Butter
Salt
Italian Seasonings

DIRECTIONS

* Chop the florets of a head of cauliflower (however much you need) and wash prior to preparing, giving it enough time to dry completely. (Or you can just break them off by hand like I do 😉 )

**When you are ready to cook:

* Preheat oven to 375°

* Peel garlic cloves (as many as you want) and pierce with a fork

* Chop onion (however much you need and whatever size you want)

* Put cauliflower, garlic, onion, 2 tbsp. melted butter, a few shakes of salt and Italian Seasonings in an airtight container and mix well. (You can even use a Ziploc bag. 🙂 )

* Spread ingredients out on a baking sheet, place on top rack in oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes.

*  Lower heat to 350° and bake another 20 minutes.

This recipe was all right but I prefer my vegetables soft and buttery like this.

But everybody has different tastes. So I’m going to leave it here. 🙂

Immaculate Cleaning

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beloved and Beautiful Sisters!

Keeping our house immaculately clean is an all-day task. Even if you are not actively cleaning, you should always be on the look-out for “clean-ups.” There may be a piece of lint on the carpet. There may be a piece of mail you neglected to file or throw away. One of your loving family members may have left a dish on the counter or neglected to put his or her shoes in the shoe rack by the front door. If you are always on the look-out, you will notice and thus pick up and throw away or put away any misplaced items instead of overlooking them.

You may have noticed some dust has accumulated between dustings. It is very easy to just take a little time to go and get your feather duster and dust that area. Your eyes should always be scanning your house for “clean-ups,” especially if you have a family. You have to clean up after them also.

It is good to train your children to clean-up after themselves. Do not let them take off a jacket without immediately hanging it up or take off their shoes without putting them in the shoe rack by the front door. Let me say here that we should always remove our shoes when entering the home. Shoes are made for walking outside. We don’t want to track dirt and debris from outside into our immaculate homes. This makes for more cleaning which can be avoided simply by removing our shoes.

You should be able to walk around in your stocking feet without the bottoms getting dirty. Floors are important in the general appearance of your home as they account for 25 per cent of a room. Keep them clean. Have your carpets cleaned every three months and sweep and mop daily.

Make your children wash their dishes and put them away immediately after use. Your husband, as the breadwinner and provider for the family can do what he wants. You should not nag him about anything he does around HIS house. He married you to keep his house. Do not nag him. He has a lot on his mind. You are there to EASE his mind not nag him about anything he does. Be grateful he provides for you and show him by putting his dishes away for him and hanging up his coat. And do not even bring it up. He sees what you do and will feel good about buying you diamond earrings and roses, when it pleases him.

Your children are a different story. You must instill the necessity of cleanliness in them. You should not have to tell them to clean up their room. Or set up a time for them to clean up. If you teach them to put EVERYTHING away, immediately after they have used it, there will be no need to make them put everything away all at one time because it will not have accumulated to that point. Of course, you will clean up after them, but you should also make them know the importance and get them into the habit of cleaning up after themselves all the time.

You are the only person ultimately responsible for keeping your house clean. Your family may help you, but the responsibility is all yours. Do not be too proud to get on your hands and knees. That is the difference between clean and immaculate. No one will see anything but the results of your hard work. And, your family will love you more when they see you going to such lengths to keep them in the BEST.

Sisters, Allah (God) has Blessed us with shelter. Having been homeless, I can truly say, from experience, how wonderful it is to have a roof over your head every night. Let Us Show And Prove To Our Saviour, Master Fard Muhammad, To Whom Praise Is Due Forever, That We Are Truly Grateful For His Blessing Us With Shelter And KEEP OUR HOMES IMMACULATELY CLEAN.

How To Hem

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beautiful and Beloved Seamstresses! 🙂

As Homemakers, we are primarily the ones responsible for maintaining our family’s clothes – whether we are laundering, ironing or mending. And, we should really be making our family’s clothes!

I cannot overemphasize the importance of investing in a sewing machine. They are very affordable and the value you will get out of them is immeasurable. You can repair and hem quickly and efficiently, making your life much easier and giving you more time for your other tasks.

In the video above, she demonstrates almost exactly the way I hem Hakim’s pants (which is why I didn’t make my own video 😉 I might the next time I buy him some pants. In sha Allah). The only difference is that because Hakim is still growing, I don’t cut the pants. I kind of put two hems in them. That way, as he grows, I can just let one hem out and he can still wear the pants.

Just iron the pants where she made the second markings instead of cutting them. And then sew the hem the way she does. Then just fold them up to the first markings and sew again. The hem will be kind of thick, but it’s not really noticeable. And you will get a few more months of wear out of them, depending on how quickly your child grows.

This is wisdom, Sisters, because usually our children will outgrow their pants before they outwear them.

(If you have to put in a hem before you get a sewing machine, you can probably find a tutorial on YouTube on how to put in a hem by hand.)

Homemade Butter!

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum Beloved Sisters!

My son, Hakim, finally convinced me to allow him to do a science experiment with some heavy whipping cream I had in the fridge. I wanted to make ice cream, but he wanted to make butter.

I finally acquiesced, and I’m beginning to think that he may have stumbled upon one of the best ideas he’s ever had. (And he’s had some good ones.)

I let him do all the work. The first time, he only used 4 oz. of cream; and it seemed like I got about 4 oz. (one stick) worth of butter!

The next time (the time of the butter shown in the picture), he used two cups. It yielded about a cup of buttermilk. So, if you subtract that from the starting amount, that means he made about a cup (two sticks) of butter. But it seems like much more because you don’t need to use as much as you would store manufactured butter.

In short, 8 oz. of cream will yield 8 oz. or two STICKS of Butter.

I tasted some of my leftover store bought butter and some of his homemade butter and the difference was astonishing! His butter had twice as much flavor and was creamier and smoother.
Suffice it to say, we will be making our own butter from now on….

“VEGETABLES, MILK AND BUTTER are the right foods to eat, when they are pure….”

And it is so easy to make! All you have to do is pour some Heavy Whipping Cream into a glass jar with a lid and shake it up. That’s it!

The length of time depends on how much cream you use. But it didn’t take nearly as long as I had remembered. (I did it once when I was little). First, the cream will get really thick and if you want to make whip cream, you can just sweeten it and eat it like that. But to make butter, you have to keep shaking it and eventually the liquid will separate from the solid and you will be left with fresh, homemade butter!!! Also, if you don’t want to do so much shaking, you can let it sit for about 15-20 minutes after it gets to the whipped cream state and then come back and shake it up. It will turn into butter right away.

**UPDATE**

Sisters, yesterday I used the butter in my cooking and I melted it before I used it…. Why was it creamy yellow and milky? It was nothing like the butter I used to buy from the store! The butter I used to buy from the store used to separate into two liquids when I melted it. THEY ADD WATER TO STORE-BOUGHT BUTTER!! I feel like such a fool for buying that crap all of my life. And it is ridiculously easy to just make your own. But if you knew better you do better….
